First things first, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY!! Twenty one... wow. It's crazy to think I have known you since we were four, that's a good seventeen years, full of memories and photos and stories to tell to our children one day when we are old.
Now, where do I start... the first time I met you was in reception at primary school, where we created a good friendship, through classes, the cross country running club, tag rugby, basketball club, choir, the Thursday lunch recorder club and many more activities. One memory I have of us is at a young age and we went on a trip to London Zoo, with both our mums, I also remember spending many days, evenings after schools and holiday at your house in Cedar Road, playing dolls houses, pushing our prams and dolls out in the road, mucking around on bikes and scooters going up and down the hill, and making crafty things. We stuck together on school trips and on the week long year six school journey trip to the Isle of Wight. We went separate ways for secondary school, but that did not separate our friendship, I believe it made us grow closer together. I remember one evening after school, we were at your house (again in Cedar Road) and you set me up with a Facebook profile, which then became a huge photo album of our various adventures, such as trips to London on a £2 travel card, you modelling my furry hat and blazer, mucking around in my room (with you stepping in the tub of ice cream and Angus went crazy hyper!) and when we were playing on the space hopper in your garden and it burst, rest in peace the orange space hopper.
Another memory I will never forget is the day you told me you were moving, my heart sunk, I thought you were moving really far away and I thought we would never see each other again, when in actual fact, you moved closer to me and now we are less than five minutes away. We have grown up together, with completely different interests and ambitions, but still support one another all the time, and that is something I am so grateful for, your constant support.
You have supported me through GCSE's, sixth form and more recently university. I remember our trip to Ikea to buy things for me in preparation of my move to uni, I remember and treasure your constant visits to me, with our fun days out to Brighton and the Thai restaurant or in Eastbourne, to the pier and the beach and various pubs for a good old pub lunch. You have also supported me throughout the last two years of crap that I've had to deal with, and through changing universities this summer. I can honestly say I wouldn't have got through those without you.
Thank you for being such a great person and great friend, you are someone I am so proud of and so grateful to call you my best friend. I hope we can create many more years of memories and stories to treasure as we grow into two old wrinkly grannies!
M.
P.s. A little photo time line of just some memories
